Krieghoff Segmentation Bullet (KSB) for reloading
Available in 9,3 mm, with a bullet weight of 13 g.
Driven by the demand of environmentally friendly bullet materials in todays market, Krieghoff developed a bullet which delivers outstanding performance and is based on the latest technology. In comparison to traditional well known deformation or fragmentation bullets, the new patented Krieghoff KSB bullet combines the best of both worlds!
Fast bullet response, few deformable and weight stable fragments as well as a substantial remaining main body are the success factors for a bullet which effectively closes the gap between fragmentation bullets and deformation bullets. With the new Krieghoff KSB bullet (Krieghoff Segmentation Bullet), the lack of lethality of pure deformation bullets as well as the devastatingly destructive performance of conventional fragmentation bullets now belong to the past. Due to the controlled fragmentation into only three segments with relatively high weight and a big cross section, we can combine deep penetration with high kinetic energy transfer. The substantial main body with small cross sectional surface but high mass retention offers even deeper penetration and produces the required exit wound while keeping the meat damage at a low level.
Six thin drive bands, located on the main body of the bullet, reduce friction of the bullet in the barrel, effectively limiting barrel fouling and heating up of the barrel. This all results in longer barrel life and longer lasting accuracy of the gun.
Based on the design of the bullet, especially due to built in breaking points, the capability of fragmentation of the bullets front section is ensured and performs constantly even with shots at very long distance.
At the point of impact, the circular sharp edge on the shoulder of the bullet delivers an adequate amount of cut off hair. The front section of the bullet fragments into three identical „half moon“ shaped pieces. The high energy transfer due to these three big pieces results in outstanding knock down power.
Because of a high retention in weight of the bullet fragments, they are able to penetrate deep into the body of the game animal and perform as secondary bullets. The main body of the bullet retains its mass and shape and thus penetrates very deep and ensures an exit wound.
The Krieghoff KSB Bullet is made from an innovative brass alloy and is manufactured on modern CNC lathes, generating very low production tolerances and thus resulting in very high accuracy.
